DSAIL is seeking talented and motivated students to join its efforts.
All students in DSAIL partake in various projects related to AI-enabled analytics. Students are engaged in all aspects of AI-enabled analytics, including data collection, analytics development, and evaluation of approaches. Background with AI and machine learning packages in modern programming languages such as Python and experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL-based) are critical skill sets for the lab. Aspiration, capability, and desire to engage in teams working on significant AI-enabled analytics for various high impact application areas. Students meet with the director weekly or biweekly to provide an update on their research progress and attain feedback. Students are expected to converge their research for top tier journals or conference in information systems, computer science, and other disciplines.

- For interested MS and undergraduate students: Kelley’s DSAIL has a strong track record of working with masters and undergraduate students who have interest in cultivating their skills in applied AI. Interested students are welcome to contact Dr. Samtani directly (ssamtani@iu.edu). In the introductory email, please clearly indicate your current program, expected graduation date, your past technical experience (with a focus on machine learning and deep learning), which projects you have an interest in, and your career goals. Students typically go through a one-semester volunteer basis within larger student groups before being considered for a paid position.
